Class Descriptions

Moovin & Groovin: Ages 2 years.  This parent involved class is a fun way to introduce your child to a classroom atmosphere with you there next to them to encourage them along.  This class will be participating in Showcase & Recital.  We work on basic gymnastics, listening skills, and all of the great fundamentals to start them out ( balance, hand eye coordination, and body awareness). 


Teeny Ballet: Ages 3 years.  Teeny Ballet class focuses on introducing students to stretches and exercises to help your child start off with good habits to mold their future in dance.  We work on basic ballet technique and fundamentals of dance using song, creative movement, and games. We also work on what it's like to be in a classroom atmosphere by working listening skills and following directions.   Students will learn Ballet choreography for the Winter Showcase & Spring Recital.


Teeny Gym: Ages 3 years.  Teeny Gym class works on the fundamentals to start you child's gymnastics career.  We work on fine motor skills such as: balance, hand-eye coordination, stretching and basic gymnastics skills and drills. Students will showcase a floor pass for the Winter Showcase & Spring Recital.


Tiny Ballet: Ages 4-5 years.  Tiny Ballet class introduces the fundamentals of Ballet.  We work on basic ballet technique, musicality, and fundamentals of dance using song, creative movement, and games.  Students will learn Ballet choreography for the Winter Showcase & Spring Recital.


Tiny Jazz/Tap:  Ages 4-5 years.  Tiny Jazz/Tap class introduces the fundamentals of Jazz and Tap dance.  We work on basic tap technique, musicality, rhythm, and fundamentals of dance using song, creative movement, and games.  Students will learn Tap choreography for the Winter Showcase & Spring Recital.


Tiny Hip Hop: Ages 4-5 years.  Tiny Hip Hop class is an energy packed and fun way to introduce your child to the joy of dance.  We focus on current hip hop technique and choreography.   Students will learn Hip Hop choreography for the Winter Showcase & Spring Recital.


Tiny Gym: Ages 4-5 years.  Tiny Gym class works on the fundamentals to start your child's gymnastics career.  We work on fine motor skills such as: balance, hand-eye coordination, stretching, and basic gymnastics skills and drills. Students will showcase a floor pass for the Winter Showcase & Spring Recital.


Ballet: Mini Ages 6-8; Junior Ages 9-11; Teen/Senior Ages 12-18. Enjoy watching your child learn the foundation of dance, while gaining grace and poise.  The body concentrates  on technique, body placement, flexibility, leaps, and turns.  Students will learn Ballet choreography for the Winter Showcase & Spring Recital. 


Pre-Pointe Tech: Ages 12-18.  Pre-Pointe is a pointe preparation class for ballet students.  In addition to their weekly ballet class students will take an additional 30 minutes working foot/ankle exercises and stretches on the floor.  Students are barefoot. *Students must be enrolled in ballet class. *Non Recital Class.


 Pointe Tech:  Ages 12-18.  Pointe class is designed for advanced students with previous and continuous ballet training.  In addition to their weekly ballet class students will utilize ballet technique while working in pointe.  Each class includes barre exercises, center floor work, and across the floor combinations focusing on strengthening the feet and ankles.    *Students must be enrolled in ballet class and must be pre approved by instructor. *Non Recital Class


Jazz/Tap: Mini Ages 6-8; Junior Ages 9-11; Teen/Senior Ages 12-18.  This fun, upbeat, and fast moving class is a great way to keep your child active while gaining a strong technical foundation in dance.    This class is designed to introduce & progress students in tap and jazz dance, and is a great class to work musicality, rhythm, footwork, and tap technique/drills.  Students will perform a Jazz/Tap choreography at both our Winter Showcase & Spring Recital.


Hip Hop: Mini Ages 6-8; Junior Ages 9-11; Teen/Senior Ages 12-18.  This is a fun, upbeat and fast moving class that focuses on coordination, strength, and current hip hop choreography, music, and technique.  Students will learn Hip Hop choreography for the Winter Showcase & Spring Recital. 


Gym: Mini Ages 6-8; Junior Ages 9-11; Teen/Senior Ages 12-18.  This class was designed to build a well-rounded power tumbler.  Each student will be taught how to properly execute and perfect their gymnastics drills and skills. Students will showcase a floor pass for the Winter Showcase & Spring Recital.  *Intermediate/Advanced Gym classes available with pre approval from instructor.


Acro Tech:  Mini Ages 6-8; Junior Ages 9-11; Teen/Senior Ages 12-18.  Acro class incorporates elements of gymnastics, basic contortion, and tricks.  This class will primarily focus on flexibility and drills to help properly execute the skills needed.  *Non Recital Class.

Technique: Mini Ages 6-8; Junior Ages 9-11; Teen/Senior Ages 12-18. This class will focus on turning and leaping drills and skills. *Non Recital Class.

Hip Hop:  AF Classic High Top Sneaker.  Girls should wear leotard and fitted short or Legging(optional).  Boys should wear T-shirt or Tank with athletic short.


Technique: Nude Jazz Boot or Canvas Ballet Shoe.  Girls should wear leotard and fitted short or Legging(optional).  Boys should wear T-shirt or Tank with athletic short.


Ballet:  Canvas Ballet Shoe.   Girls should wear leotard and tight.  Boys should wear T-shirt or Tank with athletic short.


Pre-Pointe:  Bare feet.  Girls should wear leotard and tight.  Boys should wear T-shirt or Tank with athletic short
